CROSS COUNTRY BUCKET FUND SURGERIES ON THE SAME DAY!

Both of our May Bucket Fund horses are having surgery on THE SAME DAY!

Tuesday, May 28th.

A big day!  A day to send huge waves of good will and successful thoughts toward two dedicated Equine hospitals in California and Florida respectively.

STORM

Storm, our Bucket Fund mare with the Fistulous Withers (her story linked here) is having her surgery at UC Davis Equine Surgery Center.

Thank you to all who donated and sent good thoughts to make this life saving surgery available to this wonderful BLM mare!

Shirley Puga from NERN (National Equine Resource Network) will be on hand to document Storm’s surgery and aftercare.

Sweet Storm, our May Bucket Fund mare who has a life-threatening infected wither. Her surgery, thanks to you, is on Tuesday!

LITTLE MAN HARVEY the WARRIOR (still needs funds…)

Little Man Harvey the Warrior - our end of the month Bucket Fund baby who needs surgery for his floating kneecap... Unfortunately, he will not survive without it...

Little Man Harvey the Warrior – our end of the month Bucket Fund baby who needs lfe-saving surgery for his floating kneecap…  Hopefully, his surgery will be Tuesday the 28th as well at Ocala Equine Hospital!

Well, we don’t have enough money for his surgery – yet – but timing (get it done before any damage is done…) is so important, the good Doctors at Ocala Equine Hospital are willing to set the date for Tuesday.  Dr. Lugo has experience with patella surgery and will do his very best for our little guy.

LITTLE MAN’S TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL FOR HIS XRAYS!

Here is an update from Theresa at BHFER, the Rescue who has taken in Little Man Harvey in hopes of procuring this surgery for him.  (Here is Harvey’s story.)

Some of the swelling may be fibrous tissue and some may be swelling from being too active – irritation.  He’s otherwise healthy, is full of go get ‘em, and is a mini.  All things in his favor.

Dr. Lugo is scheduled to go out of town on Saturday so he didn’t want to do the surgery tomorrow.  He does not think that waiting will impact anything.  However, if the leg gets swollen, I’m supposed to contact the hospital.  My concern is how to keep Harvey safe until them – like bubble wrap or something.  LOL  But it’s better for the baby to be here over the long weekend than in the hospital.

Pretty mare.

Pretty mare.

AS ALWAYS, I am in awe of the outpouring of good will, thoughts, prayers and donations for all of the animals in need.

You all are awesome!  A very cozy, furry chair sits next to the Horsegods at the Pearly Gates for you all!
