April’s Bucket Fund baby was wry-mouthed Barbara. She has to be 6 months old before she can have her surgery, so while she grows… here is an update!
Little Shane has been teaching her just about everything he can while she is waiting for her surgery!
Barbara’s new friend is a Lusitano colt of Alan Pogue’s. They get along great!
MAY’S BUCKET FUND HORSES: CHATTERBOX, the rare Fell’s Pony Stallion, and Blue!
Here is a photo of when they both came in …
AND HERE THEY ARE NOW!…
A NOTE FROM DARLA OF STRAWBERRY MOUNTAIN MUSTANGS.
The dynamic duo is now out to pasture on one of our hillsides. Progress seems to have stalled a bit, so we’re hopeful this slope will help them build some muscle as we continue the supplementation. As you can see, Chatters seems to have stalled on the weight gain. We continue to tweak and adjust protein levels in conjunction with the E supplements. At this point they remain on 10,000 iu’s daily.
Gaits are still wobbly and weak for Blue, stiff and rigid for Chatters. The boys had one amazing massage last week and we hope to schedule a chiropractic visit soon.
June 8th will mark the two month anniversary of their intake. Our goal, per advice from UC Davis and our local veterinarian, is continued improvement up through six months.
THANK YOU, EVERYONE, FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN HELPING THESE HORSES!
