OK everyone, hold onto your hats!
What just went down the past few days is AMAZING, BITTERSWEET and WONDERFUL.
Sam is coming back (!) and all three of the Mustang Gang (Sam, Remi, Rojo) have been offered forever freedom at Skydog Ranch Sanctuary – 9000 acres of pristine land – perfect for wild mustangs.
But I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. The Horse and Man Foundation gives away all the money it collects each month. And I, personally, do not have the funds or I would donate it immediately.
I’m asking for 100% tax deductible donations to bring foundation horses – Sam, Rojo and Remi – together again and up to Central Oregon’s SkyDog Sanctuary! Please help. It means so much!!
THE STORY in a nutshell – Sam didn’t work out down there.
As you know, the new property is not at all like the old property – and there are issues for the horses. The mustangs in particular. Their feet were not self trimming and they didn’t have trees or places to cover, they were ingesting sand… so I made the decision to qualify Sam for Lifesavers program to release untouchable mustangs onto their 1000 acre Sanctuary in exchange for 3 adoptable horses.
So, I chose Sam to trade because she was the least touchable of the Mustang Gang here.
But it didn’t work out. She wasn’t acclimating and she fought with the other horses. They were reluctant to release her onto the 1000 acres.
I took her back.
But, I really didn’t want to bring her back here. I wanted her, and the other mustangs, to be in a Sanctuary situation.

SKYDOG SANCTUARY
I emailed the fabulous Skydog Sanctuary in Prineville Oregon. They have 9000 acres in a beautiful, pristine part of the state.
I pleaded my case. I said that these three mustangs lived a very happy life together, but now I have brought them to a place that isn’t conducive to their lifestyle – and they are not thriving. Would they have it in their hearts to take in Remi, Sam and Rojo.
And the answer was, YES!
Oh, I felt so very lucky… But, the stipulation was that they had to get there before the snow set in.
They had to leave NOW.

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP THE HORSE AND MAN FOUNDATION SEND THESE THREE LONGTIME FRIENDS TO BE FOREVER TOGETHER AGAIN! I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t need to…this is so important to me, personally.
The hauling fees to collect Sam in exchange for Baby Bart, pick up Remi and Rojo and bring them all up to SkyDog Sanctuary is $2600. We need to raise this by Wednesday – two days from now. Valley View Ranch is willing to haul them NOW before the snow sets in.
All donations are 100% tax deductible. This means SO MUCH to me. I will be forever grateful for any help in bringing these wonderful friends who I love so much – to Skydog Sanctuary. They so deserve it.
Perhaps Sam was not fitting in because the horse gods wanted these three friends to be together. We all know they are your heart horses and because of that, they have all of us who love the wild ones and formerly wild ones especially as heart friends too. With so much befalling our wild ones very survival, it is a gift to be able to help these three.
