ANNIE HAS A LUMP ON HER NECK BY HER WITHER! Have you ever seen this? Vet coming.

Thursday, April 21st, 2016 | Filed under Annie

Please help me with this unusual lump on Annie!

The vet cannot get out here until Monday.  She didn’t think it was serious and she is totally booked with foaling, etc.

Anyway, Annie has this horseshoe shaped lump under her skin on her neck.  It has not gotten larger in a day.  It is squishy.  The skin looks healthy otherwise.  It isn’t dry and the hair is still intact and healthy.

Any ideas?  Please email me or comment!   I am so anxious to jump on it and treat it but I cannot find any similar photos on the internet to figure out what this could possibly be!

Here are the pics:

What is that? The hair is fine. The skin is fine. The lump is squishy, not hard.

It looks like a big, fat worm under her skin. The shape doesn’t change.

So odd. I have never seen anything like it. Have you? Please let me know what you think!

Do you know what this is?  PLEASE email me OR COMMENT!  Many thanks!

Did you ever find out what this was? My mare had a lot of these a few years ago, and a biopsy came back with nothing. I didn’t do anything, but pray, and they eventually went away. Nonetheless, one came back a few years ago, and it is quite large this spring. It doesn’t bother her, but it looks terrible, and it cannot be good for her. Please keep me posted.

My horse has gotten bumps on him when I sprayed a fly spray that had citronella in it. He is allergic to is and got hives. But I am sure this is not what Annie has. Could it be a sting of some kind? An allergic reaction to something? Sorry I’m not much help. Hope it is something simple and she will be OK!!!
